I have been speaking about recall training for over 25 years, because it is the number one reason for most behavioural issues. Your dog needs to get off a lead to be well behaved and happy in all areas of their lives. I say constantly that you have a dog as your family member not a cat! Dogs need to be able to sniff, play, run un encumbered. They cannot just be in your garden or your house. Even those with a large garden still need to take their dogs to parks and let them off the lead to socialise. Not doing this will definitely lead to multiple behaviour issues – sometimes including aggressive traits.
